ISLE OF MAN, UK -- 35,000 players played for over
9.5 hours the $11 buy-in world record tournament with PokerStars-setting
the world record for the Largest
Online Poker Tournament.
The tournament, which sold out well in
advance, played for over 9.5 hours with and a record 8,750
players hitting the money. No deals were made and Stan34powa
outlasted 34,999 players to win the world's largest-ever tournament
and $30,000.
PokerStars
had set the previous record with a field of 20,000 players
in the Sunday Hundred Grand on July 29, 2007.
