Largest board game-world record set by Luanga
Nuwame
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Canada--Using plywood, some spruce
lumber and a lot of paint and stain, 32-year-old Luanga
Nuwame created a 900 square feet board game which sets
the new world record for the Largest
wood board game made by one person.

"I'm passionate about board games, so I
made this big, massive thing," he said. "It's more than a
game; it's an interactive piece of installation art" says
Luanga Nuwame.
In Search of Sauga-the world's
Largest
board game-comes in huge pieces, some spray-painted
with names of Mississauga neighbourhoods, which will be laid
on the floor at Vic Johnston Community Centre in Streetsville
on Oct. 18.
People will become the game pieces, hopping
from spot to spot by answering questions about the city.
The self-confessed toy fanatic and business
owner also wants to put his city on the map by prominently
featuring Mississauga in the game.
“For too long this amazing city has lived in
the shadow of Toronto and this initiative is an attempt to
give the city international attention through media coverage,”
he said.
"I grew up in the '80s and have been playing board
games since I was a child," said Nuwame, who was born in Scarborough
and raised in Mississauga.
"You can say I'm an obsessed toy and game designer.
This isn't work for me. I really enjoy it."
Luanga Nuwame runs an online company
to promote his ideas for trading cards and board and card
games and does odd jobs to help keep it afloat.

Luanga Nuwame: "My designs
and ideas are not about just building some contraption or
crazy concept. I show ways to make fun things that require
some imagination, physical activity and more importantly,
a desire to try something different...plus I throw in some
rare collectibles and just odd stuff for the fun of it."
Nuwame said most of his ideas just aren't
feasible to manufacture, so they sit on a shelf or in the
recesses of his mind.
Some of his inventions include The Official
Black History Trading Card Series, The Canadian Heritage Trading
Card Series, The 30 Most Evil People of All Time Card Set
and Political Targets Board Game. They’re sold online at www.lanuwame.ca/.
