Longest
Bowling Run-up - world record set by Jason
Rawson
SALESBURY, UK -- Former Salesbury Cricket Club
Captain Jason Rawson finished a 1.6 miles long bowler's
run-up which began from the Shajan Indian Restaurant, on the
A59, up to the Ribchester Road ground where the umpires and
players had been ready in position for 20 minutes - setting
the new world record for the Longest
Bowling Run-up.

Prior to the World's
Longest
Bowling Run-up, Jason had also run a marathon from
Blackpool promenade to the Shajan in awful conditions.
The monumental effort was achieved in an
impressive three-and-a-half hours helping raise funds for
the newly-promoted Ribblesdale Senior League club.
The chartered surveyor, who has been
involved with the cricket club since childhood with his dad,
John, and brother, Simon, both playing for the club, is trying
to raise thousands of pounds for improvements to the club
house and to buy equipment.
Club chairman Andrew Green said: "It's a
great day for the club and I hope it has helped put us on
the map. "Jason has done really well and I'd like to thank
everybody who has helped out as well as those who are here
supporting him today."
