The Guinness world record for the longest time heading a football without it dropping is 8 hr 32 min 3 sec by Tomas Lundman (Sweden) at the Gångsatrahallen, Lidingo, Sweden.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most consecutive football passes: 557, set by members of the McDonald'sYouth Foootball Scheme, Tsing Yi, Hong Kong, China.
The previous Guinness world record holder was Mexico, with a football that measured 8m in diameter and before that the world record was held by Portugal, Hungary and China.
The Golden Hornet company pioneered the mega soccer ball idea as support to the national team on the occasion of 42nd National Day of Oman. Government and private organisations have supported the endeavour.
Zuhair al Balushi, managing director of Golden Hornet, said, "At last, our dream has come true. We brought Oman into an international record-recognising book in relevance to sports. We are proud of this achievement and we thank our sponsors for their support."
The world's largest football will be taken by Oman Football Association to be placed at their premises till June 2013, as a monomer reminding the nation that the Sultanate made it into Book of World Records.
