DUBAI, UAE -- Burj Al Arab Jumeirah joined forces with AmStur Caviar, the premiere US supplier of world-class caviar, to set the world record title for the largest tin of caviar ever created; the monumental tin, named "The Mashenomak" in honour of the "Great White Sturgeon" of Native American legend, was custom-made by AmStur for the occasion; it contained 17kg of deliciously flavourful, deep-grey Empress caviar, according to the World Record Academy.

The Guinness World Records world record for the most expensive of all caviar, and indeed the world's most expensive food is 'Almas', from the Iranian Beluga fish - 1 kg (2 lb 3 oz) of this 'black gold' is regularly sold for £20,000 (then $34,500).
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most expensive sushi; it costs 91,800 Phillipino Pesos (£1,313.88, $1,978.15) for five pieces of nigiri garnished with diamonds and wrapped in 24-karat gold leaf produced by chef Angelito Araneta Jr. (Phillipines).

As part of the record-guidelines and GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS requirements, the entire portion of caviar had to be completely consumed, allowing guests to enjoy the luxurious tastes of the caviar.
