Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest blender in the world; it was built in five days by Wink Eller, Greg Scott Abbott, Lisa Legohn, Christoff Koon, Eric Scarlett and Frank Payne (all USA) in Santa Clarita, California, USA, measures 4.79 m (16 ft 4 in) tall, 2.43 (8 ft) wide, 3.04 m (10 ft) deep. Household appliance company Kenwood kindly provided the college with 20 food blenders so the ingredients could be pulverized before being poured into a huge vat donated by Portsmouth Water.
The Chichester Observer reported that "All this took place under the keen gaze of adjudicators from Thomas Eggar Solictors who confirmed the record broken, with students producing 1,280 litres of the juicy concoction."
The world record bid was held as part of the college's Food and Travel Festival which invited visitors to the Westgate Fields site to take a trip around the world and taste foods from different countries and watch demonstrations by chefs from the area.
