Assembled from over 100 modular units and stretching over 400 feet, the World's Longest Modular Kayak took to the water along with 100 paddlers from all areas of the company during the L.L.Bean 2012 Paddlesports weekend.
The Guinness world record for the most sea kayaks launched simultaneously is 303 kayaks as part of the 'Kayak for a Cause' event from Calf Pasture, Norwalk, Connecticut, USA.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest boat tie-up; it consisted of 1,651 boats and was organized by the Lake Cumberland Association (USA) on Lake Cumberland, Kentucky, USA.Eligible boats included any motorized boat, aquabike/jetski, canoe/kayak and rigid inflatable boat tied together in a single, continuous structure.
The bespoke vessel is a 500-foot-long (152 m) version of Point65's collapsible kayak.

In order to build it out to L.L. Bean's 500-foot specification, Point65 adds 98 additional middle sections
The outfitter brought the unique boat to its 31st Annual Paddlesports Weekend in Freeport, Maine, where dozens of employees loaded in and put it to use.
