Most wooden train whistles blown: Fishawack Festival breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)
CHATHAM, NJ, USA -- Chatham celebrated 100 years of its train station by gathering to set a record; 1,210 people showed up at the annual Fishawack Festival to break the Guinness World Records' record for the most wooden train whistles blown at once,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The previous Guinness World Records' record for the for the most wooden train whistles blown at once was 396, achieved by a small town in Utah.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people blowing whistles simultaneously; it is 37,552 participants at an event organised by the Asthma Foundation of Queensland at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
As part of activities celebrating the borough train station's 100th birthday, 1,210 people showed up at the annual Fishawack Festival to break the Guinness World Records' world record for the most wooden train whistles blown at once.
Each whistle bore a number, and those registered received wristbands before being ushered into a fenced-in area of Lower Lum Field.
Once everyone was settled in, there were a few practice blows, then the official blow, a high-pitched, ear-splitting wail that lasted a full 10 seconds.
