  Most people singing in a round: Mexico breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)

  
ZAPOPAN, Mexico -- Almost 2,000 people, actually 1,967 people, gathered to sing the popular Mexican song, "Cielito Lindo," setting the new world record for the Most people singing in a round; the song in Mexico was part of the International Mariachi Festival,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.
The Mexican city of Zapopan, outside Guadalajara, played host to a World Record attempt – the largest number of people singing in a round. It was part of the 21st International Mariachi Festival. The song chosen was "Cielito Lindo."

  The Guinness World Records' record for the most people singing in a round was achieved by 1,967 participants at an event organised by the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce (Mexico) in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico on 7 September 2014.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people in a singing relay; it is 296 and was achieved by Santosh Rungta Group of Institutions (India) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India, on 19 April 2014.

    The Mexican city of Zapopan played host to a World Record attempt - the largest number of people singing in a round.

    It was part of the 21st International Mariachi Festival.

    A total of 1,967 people gathered at the Americas Plaza to sing the popular Mexican song "Cielito Lindo."

    The previous Guinness World Records' record had stood since 2012 with 1,631 people in Liverpool in England to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles.
