Largest Zumba class: Clemson University sets world record (Video)
CLEMSON, SC, USA -- 1,294 people participated in a Zumba class in Littlejohn Coliseum at Clemson University - setting the new world record for the Largest Zumba fitness class.

The previous Guinness world record for the Largest Zumba Class was held by the University of South Carolina, which partnered with Palmetto Health to host a Zumba class of 1,135 people.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people exercising to a fitness video: 598, achieved by Deloitte's Financial Services (UK).
"I believe Clemson students were so excited to come out to this event because it was something fun and unique to take part in. This event definitely promoted both school and community spirit and brought people of all ages together to take on the Gamecocks and have fun on a Thursday night," said Riley Csernica, co-founder and vice president of Acts of Campus Kindness, one of the organizations sponsoring the event.
According to Csernica, people came from as far away as Anderson, Greenville and even Charleston to participate in the event.
Other sponsors for the event were Healthy Campus, the Division of Student Affairs, campus recreation, the Clemson University Marketing Association, CLEMSONLiVE and TigerTown Graphics.
