Largest tonsils: Justin Werner sets world record
TOPEKA, NE, USA -- Justin Werner, 21, had a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy at Excellent Surgery Center in Topeka;
1 of his tonsils was 2.1 inches long, 1.1 inches wide and 0.7 inch thick; the other as 1.9 inches long, 1 inch wide and .7 inch thick , setting the world record for the Largest tonsils.

The previous Guinness world record was held by Justin Dodge, of Milwaukee. Werner's tonsils 0.8 inches and 0.6 longer than Dodge's tonsils.
Guinness World Records also recognized the largest breast, which belongs to Annie Hawkins-Turner (aka Norma Stitz) (USA) who has an under breast measurement of 109.22 cm (43 in) and an around chest-over-nipple measurement of 177.8 cm (70 in).
One of Werner's tonsils came in at 2.1 inches long, 1.1 inches wide, and 0.7 inch thick, and the other was 1.9 inches long, 1 inch wide and .7 inch thick. They were 0.8 inches and 0.6 longer than Dodge's tonsils.
According to The Topeka Capital-Journal, Werner says he finds the record humorous. Werner says the tonsils caused chronic sore throats and serious snoring for years.
While it would feel like there was something in the back of his throat, often times he would shrug it off. But there really was something, and they were touching each other.
It wasn't until a trip to the dentist when a hygienist noticed the large objects and recommended removal that he and his family began to get serious about surgery.
Those problems disappeared after the surgery.
His doctor, Tyler Grindal, told The Topeka Capital-Journal that it's impossible to know why Werner's tonsils were so large.
