Largest Scotch Egg: Jon Fell breaks Guinness World Records' record
LONDON, UK -- An English chef made his bid to making the world's biggest scotch egg weighing in at 11kg, taking three hours to deep fry; John Fell used 10kg of sausage in his world record egg along with about five loaves worth of breadcrumbs; his 1.5kg ostrich egg covered in meat weighed in a whopping 11kg (24lbs), setting the new world record for the Largest Scotch Egg,

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest scotch egg weighed 6.2 kg (13 lb 10 oz) and was made by Clarence Court and Lee Streeton (both UK) at the Albemarle of Rocco Forte's Brown's Hotel, London, UK, on 30 July 2008.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the record for most people tossing eggs; it is 1,162, set by the Skagway Convention & Visitors Bureau (USA) in Skagway, Alaska, USA, on 4 July 2008.
Mr Fell, Calderbridge, used 10kg of sausage meat and 1.5kg of breadcrumbs - about five loaves' worth.
For the egg component, Mr Fell had to imported an ostrich egg from Mexico as there were no British producers.
It took him seven hours to cook his giant snack - the Ostrich egg was boiled for two hours and it took another three hours to cook the meat.
He said:'About 60 people watched me cook the egg and helped us eat it – it was nice – the meat was based on an old Cumberland sausage recipe.'
