Highest pizza toss: Mark Patton breaks world record
Virginia Beach, VA, USA -- Mark Patton tossed this pizza dough 27 feet in the air at an event sponsored by YNOT Pizza at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, setting the new world record for the Highest pizza base toss,

The Guinness world record for the highest pizza base toss using 567 g (20 oz) of dough is 6.52 m (21 ft 5 in) by Joe Carlucci (USA) at Mall of America, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most pizzas made in 24 hours: 7,539 - achieved by Domino's Pizza Bundaberg (Australia) in Queensland, Australia.
YNOT Pizza held an event at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront with lots of games and activities, one of which involved trying to set a "world record" for the highest toss ever of a flattened, unbaked, 20-ounce pizza crust dough.
Virginia Beach resident Mark Patton heaved the dough 27 feet in the air, breaking the "world record" by an ample margin and setting a high bar for whoever else wants to come along in the next few years and chase this form of glory, The Daily Press reported.
