Oldest active pilot: Peter Weber Jr. breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)
PLACERVILLE, CA, USA -- A 95-year-old Northern California man has become the world's oldest active pilot; Peter Weber Jr. was 95 years, 4 months and 23 days old when he flew three looping circles around an airfield near Sacramento on March 30, setting the new world record for the Oldest active pilot,
according to the World Record Academy.

The Guinness World Records' record for the oldest active pilot is Peter Weber Jr (USA, b. 7 November 1919), who aged 95 years and 143 days still regularly flies light aircraft, as verified on 30 March 2015. Peter has been a pilot for 72 years.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Oldest active pilot (ever), set by Cole Kugel, a resident of Longmont, Colorado, USA; born March 14, 1902, Kugel earned his pilot's license in 1945 and flew in 2007 for the last time, aged 105, piloting in the company of local veterinarian Lynn Ferguson in his beloved 1976 Cessna 182. Cole Kugel died June 11 2007 of natural causes at his home in Longmont, Colorado, at the age of 105.

Guinness Worlds Records lists Cole Kugel as the oldest pilot ever. Kugel, who lived in Longmont, Colorado, flew for the last time in 2007 at age 105 and died the same year.
